The Rocky
Horror Picture Show,
the B-movie musical ode to horror films,
inspired a cult following replete with
costume-garbed, ravenous fans shouting out
lines and dancing in the aisles. Therefore
it's only natural that The Poseidon
Adventure, a 1970's disaster flick
about stranded passengers on a capsized
luxury liner, would inspire a similar
cult-like frenzy, right?
Well, it's true. Such a following does exist with
party-goers screaming out lines while
dressed as the unforgettable characters
originally portrayed by Gene Hackman,
Shelley Winters and Ernest Borgnine.
In fact,
Poseidon! An Upside Down Musical
begins at such a party as the guests attempt
to "explain" the story to a newcomer. What
follows is a hilarious, musical sendup of
one of the greatest disaster films of all
time!
Based on the 1972
blockbuster, this rollicking musical funfest
features all your favorite characters from
the movie and includes the songs "Mr. Rogo
(The Only Way is Up)" and "Just Panties
(What Else Do I Need?)"
Join these tormented
tourists in a world where up is down and
down is up as they struggle to "keep on
climbing"!
All performances are at
the Monmouth Theatre at 636 Monmouth
Street (just 4 blocks south of the
Levee) Newport, Kentucky. Performance dates
