It's time to look at the
Blue Ridge Parkway Drive. Tammy and Russ will be doing a lot of the
planning and coordination but we do need help and input from each of you
to make the trip a success.

The basic plan is
- Sunday - June 29th
See Schedule (Meet in Cherokee NC -
Southern end of the Parkway)
- Those of you that want to visit Asheville and the Biltmore Estate should do that on Saturday June 28th. We do not plan to make that part of the drive.
- Saturday - July 5th (Break up at the north end of
Shenandoah National Park)
- The parkway is 412 miles and Shenandoah National Park at the North end is about 100 miles so the total "official drive" will be over 500 miles. With side trips, we'll probably average 150 to 200 miles/day but who really cares?)
We expect that folks will create some mini-convoys twixt here and the parkway. We will be blocking rooms in hotels for us for the dates above.
We will plan some shopping, some hiking, perhaps a visit to Mayberry (now called Mount Airy, NC), some driving, some meals and a lot of fun along the way. This trip will be laden with scenery and old time camaraderie.
We'd like to have a planning meeting on Sunday April 6th at a restaurant meeting room in the Cincinnati area and we need a rough head-count to see who might be coming.
Please look at this meeting in March as a preparatory meeting with no commitment, however at the end of the meeting we'd like to get a planning number to work with so we can book hotels, meals etc.

I guess some of you may want to make the Blue Ridge drive but can't make it to our April 6th meeting. If that's the case with you then please let us know so we can keep you on the list.
